Vishwa Samudra Open 2024: Ajeetesh Sandhu registers a thumping five-shot win

New Delhi, Dec 13 (IANS) Chandigarh’s Ajeetesh Sandhu registered a thumping five-shot win after returning a confident one-under 71 in the last round of the INR 2 crore Vishwa Samudra Open 2024 played at the historic Delhi Golf Club (DGC). Sandhu (69-67-69-71) totalled 12-under 276 for the week and took home an impressive prize money cheque of INR 30 lakh for his effort. It happened to be Sandhu’s first win in five years and overall seventh professional title. It was also Sandhu’s first triumph at the celebrated DGC.

Mahika Gaur, Lauren Filer receive full central contracts from England board

London, Dec 13 (IANS) Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer have been given full central contracts as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the updated England Women's central contracts on Friday. Of the 17 players awarded full contracts, seven have secured two-year deals, including Heather Knight, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danni Wyatt-Hodge. The remaining 10 players, including Tammy Beaumont, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Gaur and Filer have been offered one-year contracts.

Thakkar, Sabharwal win gold medals in ARC's show jumping event
