Durban, Nov 8 (IANS) South Africa have won the toss and chose to field first against India in the first T20I match of the four-game series at Kingsmead Cricket Ground here on Friday, in their first clash after the T20 World Cup final. The reigning T20 World Cup winners will be facing the Proteas side they nudged past in the final of the tournament when India beat South Africa by seven runs to lift the trophy for a second time.

Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh, a winner on the PGTI last month, matched the course record of eight-under 63 to climb into second place at 14-under 199 at the end of the third day of the event.

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) India will be playing against Pakistan in their opening match of 2024 Men’s 50-over U19 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on November 30. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule for the upcoming tournament, to be held from November 29 to December 8 in Dubai and Sharjah.

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS) Former England Test captain Sir Alastair Cook said he would be interested to see if anyone picks veteran pacer James Anderson in the upcoming mega auction for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Anderson, England’s leading wicket-taker with 704 scalps, retired from international cricket this year after playing in the Lord’s Test against the West Indies in July. He has now registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 1.25 crore.
