Stockholm, Aug 24 (IANS) The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) dependence on digital governance and data manipulation has transformed into a means of transnational repression, broadening its authoritarian influence well beyond its territory, a report has said. Experts, whistleblowers and human rights groups have termed the CCP's use of data as a form of "repression without borders".

Fish production surges 104 pc, infra projects rise towards Blue Economy

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) The country’s total fish production has grown by 104 per cent from 96 lakh tonnes in 2013–14 to 195 lakh tonnes in 2024–25, as inland fisheries expanded by 142 per cent for the same period from 61 lakh tonnes to 147.37 lakh tonnes, according to government data.

Govt to explore dedicated satellite technology for maritime sector

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) The government will explore the possibility of launching a dedicated satellite or acquiring a transponder to strengthen India’s maritime governance and port management infrastructure, said Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal.
