India’s non-fossil fuel power capacity crosses 300 GW mark

New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) In a major milestone for the nation's clean energy transition and climate action targets, India has crossed 300 GW of non-fossil fuel-based installed electricity generation capacity as on July 31, 2026, which accounts for over 54 per cent of country's total electricity generation capacity of around 552 GW, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on Sunday.
