Diksha seeks good result on her return from a break on LET

Shenzhen (China), Oct 3 (IANS) India’s top-ranked star on the Ladies European Tour Diksha Dagar will return after a good break from competition. The Aramco Series Shenzhen will be Diksha’s first start after the Irish Open after which came a break for the Solheim Cup. She missed an event in Spain and France.

Vizag Open: Angad Cheema rises to top with a personal best 10-under 61 on day two

Visakhapatnam, Oct 3 (IANS) Chandigarh’s Angad Cheema, the runner-up in Hyderabad last week, continued his rich vein of form by firing a personal best score of 10-under 61 to rise to the top in Round Two of the Vizag Open 2024 being played at the East Point Golf Club (EPGC) here on Thursday. Angad (69-61), currently fourth on the PGTI Ranking with six top-10s in the season so far, had a tournament tally of 12-under 130 at the halfway stage that gave him an imposing four-shot lead. Patna’s Aman Raj (66-68) was placed second at eight-under 134 following his second round of 68.

DGCL 2024: Christie’s Golf start title defense with a bang

New Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS) Christie’s Golf began their title defense with a bang, beating TeeM EDC 3-2 on the opening day of the fourth edition of the  Delhi Golf Club League on Thursday. In the six-match contest, Christie’s won the opening game but conceded the next two to TeeM EDC. The fourth game was tied, however, Bikram Singh, Captain of Christie’s, teaming up with Sonaal Chaudhari, won the fifth game to level the scores. 

Irani Cup: Abhimanyu Easwaran holds fort for ROI against Mumbai, takes them to 289/4

Lucknow, Oct 3 (IANS) Abhimanyu Easwaran's 151 not out led the fight back for the Rest of India (ROI) against Mumbai on Day 3 of the Irani Cup at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Thursday. In response to Mumbai's 537, ROI were 289/4 at stumps on Thursday and still trail by 248 runs. Easwaran and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad started positively, hitting two boundaries in the first two overs. However, Gaikwad (9) fell victim to pacer Mohammed Juned Khan when he edged the good length ball to the hands of Prithvi Shaw at second slip in the opening session of the day.
