Air India crash: Both engines shut down after shift in fuel control switches; one pilot said he ‘didn’t do it’

New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft’s engine fuel control switches transitioned from ‘RUN’ to ‘CUTOFF’ position within three seconds after lift-off, leading to the plane crashing in just 34 seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad on June 12, according to the initial probe report by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) released early on Saturday.

New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) India is capable of manufacturing low-cost and quality-assured HIV diagnostics, and medicines, and also supplying them globally, said Dr Ishwar Gilada, the Secretary General of People’s Health Organisation (India) on Friday, even as UNAIDS sounded alarm on “a historic funding crisis” that can risk millions of lives with HIV.
