Aluminium industry urges govt to slap 15 pc customs duty to check surge in imports

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) The Aluminium Association of India (AAI), in a detailed representation to the Ministry of Mines, has called for a flat 15 per cent basic customs duty on aluminium products as the industry is facing a challenge from the surge in imports from surplus nations driven by global tariff and non-tariff protectionist measures.

Ahmedabad, Nov 3 (IANS) Ambuja Cements, part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, on Monday reported strong results for the July-September quarter of the current financial year (Q2 FY26), with consolidated net profit (PAT) soaring 364 pc year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 2,302.3 crore, compared to Rs 496.5 crore in the year-ago period (Q2 FY25).
