Guwahati, Sep 27 (IANS) The Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) has activated 19,823 of 27,106 targeted towers, connecting 26,327 villages and nearly 20 lakh households across aspirational districts, North-East regions, border areas, and Left Wing Extremism (LWE) zones, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Saturday, adding that India has joined the world’s elite group of five nations that have successfully built their own 4G stack.

Tauqeer Raza arrested over 'I Love Muhammad' campaign which led to violence in UP, sent to 14-day judicial custody

New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS) Tauqeer Raza, a local cleric and chief of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, was arrested on Saturday after his support for the 'I Love Muhammad' campaign triggered chaos in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities said a large crowd gathered outside his residence following a video he posted backing the campaign. The gathering continued to swell, leading to tension in the area. Raza has been sent to 14-days' judicial custody. Officials are monitoring the situation to prevent further unrest.
