London, Sep 22 (IANS) Pakistan is not a functioning democracy, and the proposal to create new provinces has emerged not from a national debate, a parliamentary commission or a movement towards greater devolution. Instead, it has come from Asim Munir in his latest role — Chief of Defence Forces, army chief, nuclear custodian, lifetime beneficiary of constitutional immunity and now, apparently, part-time cartographer, a report has detailed.

Lhasa, Sep 22 (IANS) China's invasion of Tibet in 1950 has not been able to win the hearts of the Tibetans as for them, it has resulted in the loss of sovereignty, suppression of culture and the erosion of basic freedoms. If China thinks to prove otherwise, it must hold a referendum in Tibet in which residents can freely take a decision regarding their future, a report has detailed.

London, Sep 22 (IANS) A leading international human rights organisation on Tuesday expressed serious concern over a recent judgment by Pakistan’s Federal Constitutional Court upholding restrictions on Ahmadi religious literature, including the continued ban and forfeiture of all 23 volumes of "Rohani Khazayeen," the collected writings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
