Gangtok, Sikkim: The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is set to resume via Nathula Pass in Sikkim this June, ending a five-year suspension caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. With the first batch of pilgrims arriving in Gangtok on June 15 and the final batch on August 7, the total journey from New Delhi to Mansarovar and back spans 21 days, including 11 days of travel in the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Rajendra Chettri, Chief Executive Officer of the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation says to IANS, The final medical examination will be conducted at Sherathang. Some individuals may get rejected there. Of course, one or two may also be rejected in Delhi. So, although we have mentioned a batch of 50, the exact number will only be confirmed after the medical tests at Sherathang are completed.
