Milk producers reap benefits of direct transfers, dairy-led growth in Gujarat

Gandhinagar, June 1 (IANS) Banas Dairy is transferring more than Rs 40 crore every day directly into the bank accounts of milk-producing women, its chairman and Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary said on World Milk Day, highlighting what he described as a cooperative model that has helped livestock rearers increase incomes through milk production, livestock credit, bioenergy and organic farming.

New Delhi, 1 June (IANS) The Government of India has received ₹2,12,679 crore, which represents 5.8 per cent of the total receipts for the corresponding BE 2026–27, for April this year. This comprises ₹1,78,492 crore of tax revenue (Net to Centre), ₹24,293 crore of non-tax revenue, and ₹9,894 crore of non-debt capital receipts on account of loan recoveries, according to a finance ministry statement issued on Monday.

SC declines to shift NEET-UG 2026 re-exam to computer-based format

New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Monday declined to direct the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination in a computer-based test (CBT) mode, observing that such a direction could not be granted at this stage when authorities were already engaged in conducting the fresh examination scheduled for June 21.
