Yangon (Myanmar), July 12 (IANS) The Indian senior women's team was held 1-1 by Myanmar in their second and last friendly match against the hosts at the Thuwunna Stadium on Friday. In an improved performance from their 1-2 defeat on Tuesday, the Blue Tigresses dominated the first half in a rain-lashed kick-off but were kept at bay by a tight Myanmar defence and a waterlogged penalty area.

With stadium unavailable, Gokulam Kerala unable to participate in Durand Cup 2024

Kolkata, July 12 (IANS) Gokulam Kerala FC, one of the two prominent football clubs of Kerala, the other being Kerala Blasters FC, will not be participating in this year’s Durand Cup beginning July 27. The name of Gokulam Kerala, which won the Durand Cup in the year 2019 defeating Mohun Bagan, now Mohun Bagan Super Giants, at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan stadium, Salt Lake here, did not feature in the six groups of the tournament announced recently.

Karelis began his journey with Greek side Ergotelis at age 16, making his debut on the final day of the 2007–08 Greek Super League season and becoming the youngest player ever fielded for Ergotelis in a league match. He has showcased his skills extensively and successfully for Greek clubs like Panathinaikos, PAOK, and, most recently, Panetolikos, whom he captained.
