South Africa poll body chief lauds CEC Gyanesh Kumar for India's election process

New Delhi, Nov 6 (IANS) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Thursday received a surprise call from Mosotho Moepya, Chairperson of South Africa’s Electoral Commission, who extended best wishes for the conduct of the Bihar elections, one of the largest democratic exercises in the world, with nearly 75 million eligible voters.

LIC clocks 32 per cent jump in Q2 net profit at Rs 10,053 crore

New Delhi, Nov 6 (IANS) Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Thursday reported a robust 32 per cent increase in standalone net profit to Rs 10,053.39 crore for the second quarter of the current financial year, compared with the corresponding figure of Rs 7,620.86 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.

ED attaches Rs 11.14 crore assets of Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan in 1xBet case

New Delhi, Nov 6 (IANS) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth Rs 11.14 crore belonging to former Indian cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with its ongoing probe into the illegal offshore betting platform 1xBet, the agency said on Thursday.
