India brought back 274 fugitives from 36 nations since 2019: Centre

New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) India has successfully brought back 274 fugitive criminals from 36 countries between 2019 and July 2026 as part of an intensified drive to ensure that offenders evading Indian law while staying abroad are brought to justice, the Central government said on Tuesday.

Bakshi has alleged that Pakistan's strategy behind recent terror attacks is to incite communal unrest in India by selectively targeting victims based on their religion. Referring to the terror attacks in Pahalgam and Kulgam, the former Army officer said the objective was to provoke retaliatory violence, disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir, and damage the region's economy by hurting tourism. However, Indians saw through Islamabad's evil designs and maintained peace.

Mizoram: 4 drug peddlers held; narcotics valued at Rs 8.54 crore seized

Aizawl, Aug 3 (IANS) Four drug peddlers, including a Myanmar national, were arrested and highly addictive methamphetamine tablets and heroin valued at more than Rs 8.54 crore were seized in three separate anti‑narcotics operations carried out by security forces in Mizoram, officials said on Monday.
