DGFT scraps physical duty payment challans for exporters under 2 schemes

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) In a significant step to facilitate the ease of doing business for exporters, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has removed the requirement of submitting physical duty payment challans while applying for Export Obligation Discharge Certificates under the Advance Authorisation (AA) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Schemes, according to a Commerce Ministry statement issued on Monday.

Centre’s expenditure on 1,847 big infra projects touches Rs 21.97 lakh crore

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) The expenditure on India’s 1,847 major infrastructure projects, currently being implemented by the Centre, has reached Rs 21.97 lakh crore (as of June 2026), which represents over 54 per cent of the total investment of Rs 40.54 lakh crore earmarked for these mega projects, reflecting steady progress in the pace of work, according to a factsheet issued by the government on Monday.

ISI pushing proxies to launch psyop in J&K, Punjab to create fear, disrupt order

Outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) are planning on running massive campaigns in these states by using their proxies to create fear and panic in the minds of the people.

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) Amid the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, leaders from various political parties on Monday expressed their views on the agitation. While BJP and Janata Dal (United) leaders voiced support for the students’ concerns and called for more talks, Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders accused the BJP of attempting to derive political benefit from the situation and stated that 98 per cent of the demands of the students have been accepted by the state government.
