Cabinet Minister Chirag Paswan on the scope of GST reforms in Food Processing sector

During an interactive session on next-generation GST reforms, Union Minister Chirag Paswan reflected on the need for progressive change across sectors. Citing outdated laws—such as sanitation workers being dismissed for taking extended leave—Paswan emphasized that times are changing and so must our systems. He stated that the approach to GST reform was deliberately kept inclusive, extending beyond government corridors to involve continuous dialogue with industry stakeholders. "From the very day I took oath, GST was the first issue raised in my interactions," he shared. Paswan credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making such a historic reform possible post-Independence. Looking ahead to India@2047, he urged for greater focus on farmer support and stressed that achieving national goals would require triple the effort from every sector.
