Adequate fertilisers supplied to farmers in ongoing kharif season: Govt

New Delhi, Aug 7 (IANS) The government has taken various measures to ensure that adequate availability of fertilisers are available to farmers and there has been no shortage of urea and DAP during the last three years and the ongoing Kharif 2026 season, the Parliament was informed on Friday.

Over 1900 child abuse cases reported in Pakistan in first six months of 2026: Report

Islamabad, Aug 7 (IANS) As many as 1,914 incidents of child abuse were reported in Pakistan in the first six months of 2026, according to the latest report released by child protection NGO Sahil. The reported cases include 49 infants who were found abandoned on the road. As many as 1,015 cases of child sexual abuse, 558 cases of kidnapping, 101 cases of missing children, 98 cases of pornography following sexual abuse and 35 cases of child marriages were reported in Pakistan from January to June, Asia News Network (ANN) reported.

416 killed, 629 injured in road crashes across Bangladesh during July

Dhaka, Aug 7 (IANS) At least 416 people were killed and 629 injured in 458 road accidents across Bangladesh in July, underscoring the country's persistent road safety crisis driven by reckless driving, poor road conditions and weak enforcement of traffic laws, local media reported citing a Road Safety Foundation (RSF) report.
