Pakistan records 14th polio case in 2025

Islamabad, July 2 (IANS) As Pakistan continued to battle a crippling disease, the country recorded another polio case, increasing the overall tally to 14 so far in 2025, the country's Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Gandhinagar, July 2 (IANS) A health scare unfolded at J.M. Desai Vidhyamandir School in Jhank village of Dehgam taluka in Gujarat, after over 120 students reported eye redness and irritation, burning sensation, and double vision, prompting an urgent response from the state health department. Out of 225 students in the school, 122 children were affected, and were rushed to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for observation and treatment.

New Delhi, July 1 (IANS) Nearly 17 per cent or one in six people worldwide is affected by loneliness, and the condition was linked to an estimated 100 deaths every hour -- more than 8,71,000 deaths annually between 2014 and 2023, according to a new report by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday.
