New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) From the distant chambers of the British House of Commons in 1809, a series of debates unfolded that, on the surface, concerned the dry technicalities of the East India Company's private trade. To a casual observer, they were about freight charges, shipping tonnage, and petitions for financial aid. However, viewed through an Indian lens, these discussions -- recorded as debates were far more than commercial squabbles.
