Indian Army assists in swift flood rescue operation in Bhutan

New Delhi, Oct 5 (IANS) A sudden flood in the Amochu River area early Sunday morning left several families and workers stranded in Bhutan’s temporary housing and workforce camp.  Despite challenging weather conditions, a coordinated rescue effort between Bhutanese authorities and the Indian Army ensured all affected individuals were brought to safety.

Karur stampede: Special Investigation team begins probe

Chennai, Oct 5 (IANS) The Special Investigation Team (SIT), appointed by the Madras High Court, has formally begun its inquiry into the deadly stampede that occurred during Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader and actor-turned-politician Vijay’s campaign rally in Karur, which left 41 people dead and more than 100 injured.
