China switches to smaller commercial investments in developing countries: Report

New Delhi, July 29 (IANS) China’s investments in Africa and other developing countries are now concentrated in equity participation, public‑private partnerships and local‑currency financing which has replaced the large sovereign credit lines that constituted Chinese development finance earlier, according to an article in South Africa’s news website IOL.

IIT Kanpur Professor booked after wife alleges domestic violence, harassment

New Delhi, July 29 (IANS) A professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has been booked by the Kalyanpur police following a complaint filed by his wife, who has alleged domestic violence, physical assault, mental harassment and marital cruelty. The complainant is also a faculty member at IIT Kanpur, serving as an assistant professor.
