Arun Govil offers tribute to late Dharmendra at prayer meet organised by Hema Malini, Esha Deol in Delhi

Mumbai, Dec 11 (IANS) Veteran actor-cum-politician Arun Govil, on December 11, paid his tribute to the late superstar Dharmendra at a prayer meet held in Delhi today, organised by superstar Hema Malini and her daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

The actor took to his social media account to share a picture of himself offering flowers on the photo of Dharmendra at the prayer meet. He wrote, “आज डॉ. अंबेडकर इंटरनेशनल सेंटर, नई दिल्ली में सांसद श्रीमती हेमा मालिनी जी द्वारा आयोजित प्रार्थना सभा में शामिल होकर स्व. धर्मेंद्र जी को विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। उनकी सादगी और योगदान सदैव प्रेरणा रहेंगे। "ॐ शांति." (Today, at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, I attended the prayer meeting organised by MP Hema Malini ji and offered my humble tribute to the late Dharmendra ji. His simplicity and contributions will always remain an inspiration. ‘Om Shanti.’) further tagging Hema Malini.

In the other pictures shared by Arun, you can see Hema Malini along with her daughters Ahana Deol and Esha Deol gracefully thanking him with folded hands for coming to offer his respects to Dharmendra.

This prayer meet comes just a few days after Dharmendra’s sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol had organised one for their late father on his birth anniversary on the 8th of December. The Deols had kept their doors open that day for all fans of Dharmendra who wished to come and pay their last respects to their idol.

For the uninitiated, Dharmendra passed away on November 24. The news of his demise left the entire nation in a state of mourning. On the late superstar’s birth anniversary on the 8th of December, his wife and superstar Hema Malini had taken to her social media account in rekindling her fond memories with her late husband. “Dharam ji “Happy birthday, my dear heart,” she wrote.

Hema added, “More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit.”

The actress thanked God for the years they spent as partners, their “two beautiful girls” who embody their bond, and the treasure of memories she carries in her heart. “The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased, and just reliving those moments brings me great solace and happiness. I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls who reaffirm our love for each other and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart.”

On Dharmendra’s birth anniversary, she also praised his humility, goodness of heart, and love for people. “On your birthday. My prayers for God to grant you the wealth of peace and happiness that you richly deserve for your humility and goodness of heart and your love for humanity. Happy birthday, dear love. Our happy ‘together’ moments.”

Dharmendra will posthumously be seen in 'Ikkis', directed by ace director Sriram Raghavan, which is set for a December release
