Mumbai, August 7 (IANS) Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has expressed pride in the success of the content-driven films produced by him, even though they were very small budgeted.

He said that meaningful cinema remains one of the biggest achievements for any production house.

Taking to his social media account, Subhash Ghai shared posters of four of his acclaimed productions, Black & White, Rahul, Joggers' Park and Iqbal.

Sharing the post, the filmmaker wrote, "When small budget movies with great content hit the big screens in theatres n loved. It's the real achievement of any production house. All these four films were produced by #MUKTA SEARCH LIGHT FILMS n highly applauded in theatres. Still proud of them. We will keep making more small budget films for theatres with great content along with commercial movies of course. Please wait n watch. (sic)"

Among the films featured was "Iqbal" released in 2005, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. The critically acclaimed sports drama starred Shreyas Talpade in the title role alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad and Shweta Basu Prasad. The film narrated the inspiring journey of a hearing and speech-impaired village boy determined to represent India in cricket.

Another notable title was "Black & White" released in 2008, written and directed by Subhash Ghai himself. The film featured Anil Kapoor, Anurag Sinha and Shefali Shah in pivotal roles. Set against the backdrop of terrorism, the drama revolved around a suicide bomber whose perspective changes after living with a compassionate professor's family.

Subhash Ghai also revisited "Joggers' Park" released in 2003, directed by Anant Balani. The romantic drama starred Victor Banerjee and Perizaad Zorabian and explored an unconventional relationship between an elderly judge and a young model.

Completing the quartet poster was "Rahul" released in 2001, directed by Prakash Jha. The emotional family drama featured Neha, Rajeshwari Sachdev, Gulshan Grover and child actor Yash Pathak. The film centred on a young boy caught in the middle of his parents' troubled marriage and also highlighted the emotional impact of separation on children.

Talking about Subhash Ghai, the filmmaker is also known for directing blockbuster entertainers such as Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Meri Jung, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khal Nayak, Pardes and Taal.
