RBI vigilant of evolving West Asia situation, economy resilient to withstand shocks: Sanjay Malhotra

New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Global economic conditions and sentiments have soured after the outbreak of the West Asia conflict, adversely impacting the growth-inflation outlook, Governor Sanjay Malhotra said in the latest RBI Bulletin on Thursday, adding that Central Bank would remain vigilant of the evolving situation and put in place policies that prioritise the best interest of the economy.

Ship movement via Hormuz halts, global oil prices firm up

New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has come to a standstill after Iran seized two ships, including one bound for Kandla port in Gujarat, which has increased uncertainty over the movement of oil and gas as 20 per cent of the world’s energy exports transit through the waterway.
