DMK to challenge Waqf bill in SC: CM Stalin

Chennai, April 3 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday condemned the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha and announced that the DMK will challenge the legislation in the Supreme Court.

New Delhi, April 3 (IANS) The Waqf (Amendment) Bill remained one of the major subjects of discussion on Wednesday as the Lower House of the Parliament witnessed its tabling. After a marathon debate on the Bill that went on for almost 12 hours, it was eventually passed in the Lok Sabha in the early hours of Thursday. The Bill was approved by the Lower House with a majority of 288 votes against 232.
