Mumbai, Aug 23 (IANS) Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who turned a year older on Saturday, cherished a long-standing family birthday tradition by savouring the delicious kheer made by her mother.

The 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' actress revealed through her latest social media post that her mother happened to be with her on her birthday after a very long time, making the day even more special for her.

Devoleena took to her official Instagram account and uploaded a couple of pictures of herself enjoying the kheer made by her mom on her birthday.

Expressing the joy of having her mother by her side on her special day, she penned the caption, "I don’t even remember when was the last time Mom was with me on my birthday. But this birthday feels a little more special because of the kheer made by her (sic)."

Devoleena further stressed the significance of such family traditions.

"Some family traditions are simply irreplaceable and unforgettable. For us, Mom’s birthday kheer is one of them. No matter where we are, she always makes sure she makes it for our birthdays. Because sometimes, home isn’t a place… it’s the taste of something made with love. #maalove," she went on to add.

On Saturday, Devoleena commemorated her birthday with a heartfelt note on social media.

As she stepped into another year of her life, she decided to reflect on her journey and how much she had grown over time.

Devoleena treated her Instagram family to a glimpse of her birthday celebration. Posting a couple of pictures from her getaway, she penned the caption, "Growing into myself, one year at a time. And I love this version of me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.”

Best known for playing Gopi Bahu in the Star Plus show 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', Devoleena has also been a part of 'Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya' and 'Dil Diyaan Gallaan'.

She was also one of the contestants on the reality show 'Bigg Boss 13'.
