New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) India's electronics manufacturing sector has created nearly 25 lakh jobs over the past decade, while production has increased almost seven-fold, underscoring the country's emergence as a global manufacturing hub driven by the Make in India initiative, the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) said on Wednesday.

Cabinet approves Rs 14,447 crore new 6-lane elevated corridor along Ganga in Varanasi

New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the development of a link corridor between National Highway-19 (NH-19) and the Varanasi Ring Road with riverbank connectivity along the River Ganga for the decongestion of Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi city at a total capital cost of Rs 14,447.64 crore, which will include a civil construction cost of Rs 6,037.85 crore and a land acquisition cost of Rs 541.11 crore under NH(O).

New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) The Union Cabinet -- chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi -- on Wednesday approved the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) with a budgetary outlay of Rs 62,500 crore to scale up domestic production, boost exports and strengthen India's position as a global electronics manufacturing hub.

New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the development of a 43.218 km link corridor connecting NH-31 and the Varanasi Ring Road along the River Varuna for decongestion of Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi city, with a total investment of Rs 10,998.32 crore.
