Bihar: Women's post office opens in Motihari, aimed at empowering them

Motihari, Oct 1 (IANS) In a continued effort to promote women's empowerment, the Central and Bihar State Governments are implementing new initiatives. As part of this mission, a dedicated Women’s City Post Office was inaugurated today in Motihari, the third such post office in Bihar.

Cabinet okays 3 pc hike in DA for Central govt staff, DR for pensioners

New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the release of an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from July 1, 2025, representing an increase of 3 per cent over the existing rate of 55 per cent of the basic pay/pension, to compensate them against the price rise.

Cabinet approves 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas with over Rs 5,862 crore outlay

New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) To facilitate the educational needs of the wards of Central government employees, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) under the civil sector across the country with an outlay of more than Rs 5,862 crore, spread over a period of nine years from 2026-27.
