Lyricist Raqueeb Alam has clarified his stand on the controversy surrounding the Sarke Chunari song from the film KD.

He revealed that he had written five songs for the film but refused to write the sixth track due to concerns over its lyrics. According to him, he was initially asked to translate Kannada lyrics into Hindi, but later insisted on writing fresh lyrics himself.

Raqueeb Alam also stated that he is strongly against “cheap lyrics” and highlighted how lyricists and singers are sometimes pressured by directors and producers to create such content for viral success.
