New Delhi, Oct 15 (IANS) India's small home appliances market is projected to hit Rs 20,000 crore by FY30, up from Rs 13,800 crore in FY25 -- growing at about 8 per cent annually -- with emerging categories leading the expansion, a report showed on Thursday.
According to a report by Redseer Strategy Consultants, emerging categories are expected to grow at 18 per cent, expanding from Rs 1,850 crore to Rs 4,200 crore during the period.
Air fryers are expected to be the fastest-growing category with a projected CAGR of 22.5 per cent between FY25 and FY30, followed by garment steamers at 19.6 per cent, air purifiers at 15.3 per cent and coffee makers at 14.1 per cent, it said.
However, penetration of emerging categories remains low at 0.1-2.4 per cent of Indian households despite rapid growth compared with 33 per cent for mixer grinders and 71 per cent for gas stoves.
Online marketplaces are driving adoption, accounting for 68 per cent of air fryer sales and 50 per cent of air purifier sales in FY25.
Overall online penetration in small appliances is expected to increase to 37 per cent by FY30 from 31 per cent in FY25, the report said.
Moreover, air fryers recorded 103 per cent year-on-year GMV growth on a leading marketplace in August 2026, followed by flat grills at 94 per cent and coffee and espresso appliances at 82 per cent.
However, the top three brands already control about 70 per cent of air fryer and flat grill sales.
New-age brands account for 54 per cent of online OTG sales and 48 per cent of food processor sales but hold only 14 per cent of air fryer sales.
The report further showed that specialty electrics and contact grills are relatively open opportunities with around 70 per cent growth and top-three brand concentration below 35 per cent.
It noted that expansion beyond a single successful product is critical for long-term growth.
