International community must move beyond rhetoric on Pakistan's persecution of minorities: Report

Islamabad, June 5 (IANS) The United Nations (UN) has repeatedly expressed concern over the persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan. However, meaningful change in Pakistan remains elusive despite years of warnings, recommendations, and expressions of concern. The international organisations must move beyond cautious rhetoric as turning a blind eye to the suffering of religious minorities in Pakistan does not serve justice or the values that the international community claims to hold, a report has stated.

India lodges strong protest with Pakistan on holding elections in occupied Gilgit-Baltistan

New Delhi, June 5 (IANS) India on Friday lodged a strong protest with Pakistan regarding the latter's plans to hold “General Elections” to the so-called “Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly” in the Indian territories illegally occupied by Pakistan. New Delhi reiterated its position that entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including the so-called "Gilgit-Baltistan" are integral and inalienable parts of India and such endeavours by Pakistan cannot mask the underlying issues of grave human rights violations, political repression, economic exploitation and denial of freedom in territories illegally occupied by Pakistan.

Illegal foreign nationals will be dealt with as per law: MEA

13 foreign nationals killed, over 20 injured in Malviya Nagar fire incident: MEA
